PTC thermistors can be used to heat or vaporize chemical liquids with narrow functional temperature range to prevent overheating and provide controlled release of the aroma or therapeutic agents. |
PTC thermistors can be used in conjunction with appropriate alarm or relay switch circuits to indicate liquid overflow in holding tanks or the onset of icing conditions. The thermistors' rapid change in resistance corresponding to changes in the ambient is utilized to indicate a change in the normal condition. |

A PTC thermistor can be positioned next to a bimetal switch in parallel connection to sustain an "open" circuit configuration upon detection of a fault condition. The circuit will remain open until direct operator intervention to correct the fault condition. Both rectangular and circular thermistors are available. |
A PTC thermistor can be connected in parallel with the resonant capacitor in fluorescent lamp circuit to preheat the lamp heating coil, thus extending the lamp service life. |
